Flowers and Opera

Opera Untapped and Simons Shoes present the return of Flowers and Opera, a free outdoor concert series now celebrating its sixth year with live opera, free flowers, and community food drives supporting local food pantries.

Originally created during the height of the pandemic through a partnership between Simons Shoes and Opera Untapped, Flowers and Opera began as a way to bring music and connection to neighborhoods during a time of isolation and uncertainty. Since then, the series has evolved into a community-focused event celebrating music, generosity, and shared public space.

Each performance features a live outdoor opera concert and free flowers. In exchange, audience members are encouraged to bring donations for local food pantries.

Featuring: Leo Balkovetz, Laura Couch, Aurora Martin, David Rivera Bózon, Katrina Holden-Buckley, and Lindsay Albert (pianist)

*Free and open to the public

*Created by Matthew Kerstein of Simon’s Shoes and co-produced by Opera Untapped. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brookline Commission for the Arts, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
